New Year, New Word
When On a Sundown Sea was released, I promised myself I would schedule just one event per week. Well… oops. Since October I’ve presented at thirteen events—bookshops, libraries, organizations, and private homes. Did I set unrealistic expectations for my book launch? Absolutely. But I also had an absolute blast. I’m grateful for every connection and conversation, and especially thankful for the quiet time over the holidays to rest, reflect, and recharge.
At the start of each new year, I choose an angel card to guide my word for the year. Friends often come to my house to draw words for themselves, turning it into a ritual I treasure. As for me, the word I drew from the bowl was balance. Does that surprise you? As my book events begin to ramp up again, I’m committing to honoring that word—staying balanced between time with others and time alone, between outward momentum and inward replenishment.
What’s your word for the year? If you’d like me to pull a card for you, let me know—I’d be happy to send you one.
My upcoming events are listed below. I hope you’ll consider joining me at one of them.

This is wonderful! I am so pleased for you.
